Mossy Creek “Wooden Baby Rattle”:

Mossy Creek use locally-harvested cherry and walnut, dried in their own solar-powered kiln, to craft their traditional American folk toys. The shape of this rattle is so nice and rounded, no hard edges. It is actually pretty light, very smart made for babies in mind. It comes in a box and looks so nice, it makes a great gift. About $18, so worth it. Support USA toy makers that make an effort to be eco-friendly, good for us all, especially the little ones!

Buy these unfinished here (the are usually finished with mineral oil, but safer unfinished):

Camden Rose “Maple Teether” and “Cherry Rattle”:

The Cherry Rattle is Camden Rose’s signature item. The rattle is sculpted in response to nature and organic forms that blend harmoniously with a soothing sound and the moving bead and organic textures encourage the development of senses. The rattle is crafted from cherry with a contrasting birch dowel. After the rattles are sanded baby smooth, beeswax is hand applied bringing out the uniqueness of the grain. Each teether is fashioned from maple wood and also finished with beeswax. Pure, simple, and non-toxic. I love how Camden Rose wait until a tree falls in the forrest and then log it out with a horse not to disturb the wildlife! Made in USA.

Soft Teething Toys

Under the Nile Organic “Crate with Veggies” and “Fruit Tote”:

I LOVE these soft all organic fruits and vegetables, my son likes them too. They are affordable. made by a great company, and make a great gift. My son chewed, sucked and drooled on the carrot as a baby and I felt so good knowing it was organic, even the filling. He loves eating fruits and vegetables and still plays with these soft toys at the age of almost 3. These are great when babies are at that age when they don’t have full control of their movements and can hit themselves (a wood toy can hurt). What a hit at the baby shower! They also make this great “Ring Bear”:
